Seattle, Washington

We headed out early from Idaho and continued our journey to Seattle. We stopped at a beautiful overlook to stretch our legs and grab some photos. Around midafternoon we arrived and checked into our cute Airbnb. Louie was really excited that there were statues of bears inside it.

After getting settled in we wandered into town and went to Pier 57: Miner’s Landing and explored the shops. Then we rode The Seattle Great Wheel. If you know anything about me you know I am terrified of heights and ferris wheels. However, I sucked it up and got on and I am so glad I did. We ended up riding at sunset and got to see the sun dip into the mountains from the top. The view of Mt. Rainier was also amazing!

We woke up early on Saturday because we had a big day planned. Our first stop was to see the Fremont Troll. You may recognize this creature from movies like Twilight and 10 Things I Hate About You. I didn’t tell anyone about it , so it was a surprise when we pulled up.

Our next stop was to see Meredith Grey’s house. I finally jumped on the Grey’s Anatomy bandwagon and just recently finished watching it.

We headed to the ferry terminal next. We had planned to go to Bainbridge Island, but something was wrong with the ferry and it was going to be a long wait. Instead we took the ferry to Bremerton and spent a lovely afternoon knocking around. We visited a reptile and insect museum, a battleship and relaxed by the water. The ferry ride there was great, but the ride back had stunning views.

We finished the day with a visit to the Pike Place Market, the original Starbucks, a walk through the city and yummy pizza.

Of course, no trip to Seattle is complete without a trip to the Space Needle. Because I love sunsets so much we visited the Space Needle at sunset and I even got brave enough to get out on the glass floor. By the time we got back to the house we were all beyond exhausted. Time to sleep before our next adventure!
