Wandering But Not Lost

Where it All Began…

We are a wacky family of four who love exploring new places. We love to wander and wonder and learn new things. Our favorite adventures have been together and we are very excited for this one!

When our daughter was born, we made a plan to visit all fifty states before the kids graduated high school. I knew that this was no small feat, and that it would require a ton of planning. Good thing I love to plan! When the children were little, we visited states nearby frequently but didn’t do any major trips because we wanted them to remember as much as possible.  We didn’t know when our big cross-country trip would be, but when my dad passed away in August I was inspired to take on the challenge.

I remember my dad once saying that he had hitchhiked across the country. While I wasn’t interested in the hitchhiking part, I was interested in the seeing the country part.  After my dad joined some of the greats at the big music festival in the sky, I decided it was time to put this plan into action. So here we are 10 months later about to take off on our great adventure. We don’t have long in each state, but we are going to see as much of the United States as we can in six weeks! So off we go…enjoy the ride!
