The city of Grants is located on Route 66 and has several cute, old reminders of life many years ago. We drove through their Route 66 sign (both ways) before heading to Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave. Unfortunately Lilly wasn’t feeling very good, but we were able to get a virtual doctor visit and some meds to save the day. The volcano erupted 10,000 years ago, but the volcanic rocks that were left behind were fascinating to look at. We hiked to the ice cave but Lilly was feeling so bad that she and I skipped out on the volcano hike. The boys said it was amazing and worth the hike up the rocks.the crater that was left from the eruption was huge. Not as big as the Meteor Crater, but still big. Once we finished, we headed to Texas for the night.
